  Overwhelming Evidence

In this story covered by Paul, some time in the mid 70's, a police officer pulled over a young woman because he thought she was under age for some reason.

The young woman was upset that he thought she was under age and pulled her blouse up or open and asked the officer if he though she was under age now. He said the evidence was overwhelming.

Something like that, told much better by Paul.

I heard a Rest of the Story segment many years ago about Steven King. I've found the story of Steven King as an adult but the one I heard so long ago dealt with his childhood and how his daddy had left him and his mother, and how he would escape to the attic to write stories.
Does anyone have that recording? My son was born in Maine and I think he would really enjoy hearing that story.
Thanks!

Neurosurgeon's Son Story ($50 reward if found!)
Posted by: MrSantosLHalper - 10-31-2022, 02:57 PM - Forum: Requests Go Here - No Replies

Hi -
This would mean the world to my dad... I'd love to find the audio so I could give it to him as a Christmas present!

Paul Harvey once told a story about my brother.  A little background: my mom was a neurosurgeon; one of the first in the field at the time.  When my brother was playing as a child, my grandmother asked what he wanted to be when he grew up.  My brother responds with "a lung doctor, just like my dad!" When my grandmother says "or maybe a neurosurgeon like your mom?," he says "Grandma (Oma), that's a girl's job!"

Phrasing may not be exact, but you get the fundamental idea. I believe this might've been at the end of an episode, like a "feel good story"

If anyone is able to find this, I'm willing to send them a "tip" them $50 via Venmo or PayPal.

Please reach out with any questions!

  Episode called FUTILITY
Posted by: Ellis King - 10-21-2022, 12:18 AM - Forum: Requests Go Here - No Replies

Does anyone have a recorded session called "Futility"?  This story is listed in the book and is my favorite.  The story describes a ship called the Titan which left Liverpool on her maiden voyage then hit an iceberg and sank.  The Titan was almost identical to the Titanic in configuration and events.  BUT in the rest of the story it describes that the novel of the Titan was published 14 years before the Titanic sailed on her maiden voyage.  It does not get any stranger then that!!

Huh

Hi, I’m trying to find an episode Mr. Harvey did regarding the ‘Battle of Munfordville’ or possibly ’The Battle for the Bridge’, a civil war story. Thanks

  Chigger Bites
Posted by: grizzlysgrowls - 09-18-2022, 09:29 PM - Forum: Requests Go Here - No Replies

I left the USAF in 1983.  It was a year or two after that, I heard a Paul Harvey story (probably TROTS) about a child who's taken from his parents due to apparent child abuse, cigarette burns which turned out to be chigger bites.

It was more than 30 years ago, and it's not important anymore.  But I'd sure like to find that particular show.  Thanks!

Looking for episode that mentions a Piedmont Airline Christmas jingle I wrote
Posted by: Kathyh - 09-06-2022, 06:46 PM - Forum: Requests Go Here - No Replies

Back in 1986 at Christmas, I wrote a demonstration announcement for my Piedmont Airline trip I was working as a flight attendant. I read it on several flights after that and shared it with many other flight attendants over the years who also used it on their flights. I had someone tell me that Paul Harvey had mentioned it on his “The Rest of the Story” program and always wondered what he had said about it. I wondered if there’s any way to hear/find that episode. Thank you!

On one of Paul Harvey's news broadcasts he briefly featured me as a "gravedigger by night and a PhD by day" in Draper, Utah since I worked during the day at the university and at night or on the weekends I would dig by shovel an occasional grave in the small town cemetery. Is it possible to search this archives for this episode or news?

Sure miss him, don't we!

Thanks,

Is there a way to listen to or read a transcript of any particular date’s show?  Looking for on/about December 23,1973, addressing a woman in Chicago who drown in Lake Michigan. Any lead appreciated. Thanks

Greetings. Thank you, administrator, for your hours and hours of work, putting together your tribute website to the legendary Paul Harvey! My website journal and commentary is "Appalachian Irishman" (https://www.appalachianirishman.com). On 7/22/2022, I published by article and podcast, "If I Were The Devil” – Inspired by Paul Harvey (published 7-22-2022; article #340). My voice does not have the eloquence of Paul Harvey. His 4/3/1965 broadcast, "If I Were the Devil," inspired my article and podcast. My 7/22/2022 article and podcast was my way to try to help folks -- as Paul Harvey had done. I wish that this once great nation would return to the Lord! Thank you for allowing me to enter this comment! May God's grace and peace bless each reader here.
